72-year-old doctor's heroic 24/7 duty during COVID-19 pandemic

I know a few doctors, and there's one story in particular that really stands out. When COVID hit in March 2020, several specialists at our hospital left. But there was this one doctor, 72 years old, who chose to stay. He was just amazing – he took on call duty non-stop, 24/7, for five straight months, at a time when other specialists in his field were stepping back because of the pandemic.

I had a chat with him about it, asking why he pushed himself so hard. His response? He simply said he did what he thought anyone would do in his place. He didn't see his actions as anything extraordinary, which is just incredible, right?
