Pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca has announced that it is withdrawing the COVID-19 vaccine globally weeks after it admitted that the vaccines cause a rare but serious side effect. Earlier, AstraZeneca said that its vaccines “can, in very rare cases, cause TTS,” or Thrombosis with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome which causes blood clots & low blood platelet count in patients. AstraZeneca is being sued by more than 50 alleged victims and grieving relatives in the High Court of London. However, the firm has attributed its decision to a decline in demand. It said that the decision is purely commercial as jab has been superseded by alternatives.
